2011 was a difficult year for many businesses with the pace of economic recovery much slower than hoped, but Lewes is weathering the storm better than most. With the uncertainties in the broader UK economy and difficulties in the Eurozone, businesses are continuing to protect themselves against future downturns.
The New Year sees a new level of support from the Chamber of Commerce.
To kick off we are holding our first breakfast networking event on Wednesday 8th February at the Mayo Wynne Baxter offices in Bell Lane, Lewes. Coffee and croissants will be served at 8am with networking until 8.30 when guest speaker Edward Coxall, Partner at Mayo Wynne Baxter, will give a brief introduction to the legal requirements of selling online and how to stay on the right side of distance selling regulations.
The second speaker is Adam Lee, Managing Director of search engine optimisation agency No Pork Pies, who will explain how to maximise a website’s visibility in key search engines like Google. With such vast quantities of goods and services now bought or researched online we expect places to go quickly.
This event is free to both members and non-members.
